Direct from Mexico

I bet my wife a bottle of beer that Trump wouldn't make it to the end of his first year.

I lost.

  1. It is mind blowing that a person as intelligent as you would fall for the disastrous liberal(totalitarian) propaganda with the 32 genders, muslim invasion and Trump hate.

Trump has been one of the most successful presidents in history when you consider OBJECTIVELY the GDP growth, uneployment stats and stock market soaring.

Also, I am glad you cut back on the absurd levels of trans pandering with the pronouns in Elysium Fire. It was disgusting in Poseidon's Children, it is more tolerable now.

I hope you find your way out of leftist bender you are on. It doesn't become you. It hurts me that my favourite author is turning into a communist.

    1. You know, actually sci-fi is about being leftist (Asimov, Clarke, ...). So get over it and move on. Perhaps it's you who need to find your way out wathever you are on.

    2. How do people like you exist? I'm sorry but only equally putrid people could ever support such a disgusting, sorry excuse for a human being.

  2. Didn't know where to put this, so I'll just go with your most recent post: I just got Elysium Fire and I wanted to say, Damn it feels good to be back in the RS universe!

I got into George Mann's Newbury and Hobbes investigations series a few years ago, and it's like you've carved something like that out in the RS universe. There's the familiar feeling of returning to the Glitter Band and Chasm City, but also the central cast returning for another adventure, which is kind of unusual for your RS work but a welcome change. I always thought Sparver was an underrated character, and the hyperpigs a fascinating aspect of RS.

I'm sure you've seen this before, but years ago someone linked this image on an old message board where people were discussing your books, and it seems like the perfect hyperpig:

Anyway I'll leave it at that because I don't want to spoil anyone and I'm not that far along myself, but I feel the excitement of another grand adventure in Revelation Space.

    Thanks for being awesome, AR!

    1. I'm half way through The Prefect on audible and also really enjoying dipping back into the RS series. I still prefer books like Pushing Ice or House of Suns, but it's a fun detour. Some sections of The Prefect have a lovely Banksian feel that I wasn't expecting.

  4. Dear Alastair,
I do hope that you continue writing in any fashion you want. People writing in anonymously, like above, scare me.
