Mercury Rev

 It's not a new album, it's been out since 2024, but it feels as if I've listened to little else since first picking up Mercury Rev's Born Horses. I've always loved Mercury Rev but even for a band that's rarely repeated itself, this record is an astonishing, mind-blowing excursion into strange new territories of the psyche. I can't compare it to anything else, and I don't think "masterpiece" is going too far. A genuine work of art, I think, which will endure.
