New one in

So I've delivered a new novel. We have a possible title, but it's still subject to discussion and may well change, so I won't mention it just yet. What I can say is that the new book is the first novel-length work to be set in the Revelation Space universe since 2007, and is also a sequel to The Prefect. Despite the decade-long gap beween these books, this one is set only two years after the last and features a large number of recurring characters. Nonetheless I hope that it will be capable of being read independently of the first.

As far as I am aware publication is not likely to happen until early 2018.

  2. I'm very excited. The Revelation Space universe (RSU?) is one I am very fond of. Being in the US, I expect to see this beastie a few months after your expected release date, so I will be studiously avoiding spoilers when it comes out.

  6. Very exciting news and looking forward to it (and I guess that 2018 is not that far away). Are you going to get the privilege of simultaneous publication in the U.S. and U.K.?

P.S. Any embedded musical lyrics? :-)

  14. I can't tell you how excited I am about this news. RS is my favorite SF series of all time and I can't wait to spend more time in that universe.

Gonna need a re-read too, I think. I can't remember if the end of The Prefect signaled the beginning of the Rust Belt or whether the Belle Epoque continued after the events of the book.

Thank you AR for being so prolific! We are very lucky, as fans, to follow a novelist who so consistently puts out awesome books and short stories.

So, as of today, Amazon.co.uk is still showing "Untitled Reynolds 5 of 10" for next January. But it's also showing "Revealer" with a release date of February 2019. Sequel to Revenger perhaps? I certainly hope so. I thought Revenger would make a really great film.

  20. Yes, the latter one is the intended follow-up to Revenger, and the untitled one is the new Prefect book. We're just narrowing down the title at the moment.

  22. Amazon is now showing releases for both November and January - Aurora Rising and Elysium Fire respectively. Got massively excited. Yay two books in 2 months! Then realised Aurora Rising is an alternative title for The Prefect. Gutted, lol. Still loving the title for January's. Can't wait.
