  1. Dragon's Egg is one of my favorite books of all time. I think I've read it at least three times. It's such a glorious story. I think I read everything Robert L. Forward wrote and all of it was brilliant.

I consider Mission of Gravity by Hal Clement to be in the same class of special hard science fiction combining incredible world building with complete plausibility.

  2. I read it with great enjoyment, Charles - as well as the only other Forward novel I read, Flight of the Dreagonfly. The neutron star stuff was clearly am influence on the plot of Revelation Space, notwithstanding the fact that I ended up doing a lot of research on neutron stars for my job.

  3. Dragon's Egg is a great book!
And regardless, just wanted to express how much I love your own books. I especially enjoyed House of Suns and the Prefect duo, and am now in the middle of the Revelation trilogy. Please note, however, that there's a certain difficulty in getting Redemption Ark on Kindle. I'd be happy to provide more details in private, if you wish.

  4. Hi Oren - my backlist (including Redemption Ark) is coming back into availability via Orbit in the US, which should include Kindle editions for all titles.

  5. Hello,

I have this book but didn't read yet. Just finished Heart of the comet (Brin/Benford) and it is really a good book!

  6. Yes, I liked Heart of the Comet, lots of good stuff in it and a nice evocation of future history passing by.

  7. Brilliant book. The way he explored the effect of gravity and time on hypothetical neutron star intelligence was impressive. It's bizzare, but not inconcievable.
