As an Aussie growing up in the 70's, I can't stress how important bands like The Saints and Master's Apprentice's were to the formation of the style of music I'd seek out in years (decades) to come. Unlike the Sex Pistols, The Saints were able to last the distance and release quite a few very good albums. Chris Bailey's death rocked me just as much as Bon Scott and Freddie Mercury did, though he lived much longer than both. I hope I get to see them.
I think I've mentioned before that I came to Ed Kuepper first (after initially seeing his records in Australia) then back-tracked to The Saints. I was saddened to learn of Chris Bailey's passing.
Hi Alastair, this question is not related to your post but I thought I’d ask anyway; any news on when your next book Halcyon Years will be released? Thanks
I've delivered the first round of edits, but beyond that there's not much I can say, I'm afraid. I'd like to think that mid-late 2025 isn't out of the question.

DeleteIf I wanted to ask you some questions about details in Chasm City (my favorite book) how would I most easily go about that?
ReplyDeletePost them here if that works for you? I can't promise answers to everything (I wrote it 25 years ago!) but I'll do my best.
