Traditional cultural styles and motifs are usurped as thematic elements in corporate architecture as an marketing technique. Very Disneyesque and also a very ancient strategy for garnering support for large projects at the pleasure of those who dangle the purse strings. It is inspired by a cynical desire to attract the egos of the consumers of the space. What was once a beautiful expression of local inventions of technological and design solutions to environmental constraints and human requirements has been lost in amalgamation and echo, or so it seems to me. The expressions of modern architecture as a fanfare to global man seem to me to be more artful and interesting despite their gimmickry and pandering to inselcurities.
Combine Citadel on the right there...
