Quoting from Wikipedia:

"The hospital works with the UCL Institute of Child Health, and is the largest centre for research into childhood illness outside the United States and Canada, and a major international trainer of doctors and nurses. It has the widest range of children's specialists of any UK hospital, and is the largest centre for children's heart or brain surgery, or children with cancer, in the UK. Recent high profile breakthroughs include successful gene therapy for immune diseases, following a decade of research."

It's often in the news, or featured in documentaries about childhood illness. In any case, a good cause, as I'm sure you'll agree.Al Rhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01517967406876572177noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5143440998478479157.post-63320827697086178032011-03-20T09:27:47.021-07:002011-03-20T09:27:47.021-07:00Sweet! Annoyingly, the website doesn't say what the Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital actually is -- and why they need our support -- for us out-of-towners. Not that I'm suggesting one shouldn't donate to a children's hospital, but it's just odd that there is quite literally NOTHING about the cause on the book's website. Ah well. I'll be buying it anyway. :-)

--AndrewAndrew Breitenbachnoreply@blogger.com
