I can only imagine my reaction to anyone who is not you who openly said that they did not like titles such as Terminal World.marteihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09600781601788579830noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5143440998478479157.post-37945560788098033872011-12-06T23:11:32.499-08:002011-12-06T23:11:32.499-08:00Just finished reading House of Suns for the second...Just finished reading House of Suns for the second time... for a second time, left with a breathtaking and somewhat haunting sense of scale in time and distance.<br />Can't wait for BRE, and thanks for sharing.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04915204944981073823noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5143440998478479157.post-31069047872698267902011-11-29T22:03:27.828-08:002011-11-29T22:03:27.828-08:00Congrats on finishing the job, Al! Can't wait...Congrats on finishing the job, Al! Can't wait to read it. Thanks, also, for the proofreading behind-the-scenes info. My dream job has always been to be a proofreader for a publisher, but I've never seemed to live in the right area to pursue it. In almost every book I've ever read I've found at least a small error or two here & there and thought: Gee, if they'd only hired ME none of this would have made it into the final product! :-) But as you said, none of us are infallible. I'd sure relish the opportunity to try, though!Spaceman Spiffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05076905832787427729noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5143440998478479157.post-49192721535264030162011-11-20T01:02:41.131-08:002011-11-20T01:02:41.131-08:00Just finished proof reading my first book (a borin...Just finished proof reading my first book (a boring business one) and your technique is the one recommended by my co-author. I still expect that the first time I open a finished copy I will see an obvious error (I did with my thesis). I've read books by authors whom I'm quite sure don't do any proofreading, and wondered how they got published. But most of the books I read have good spelling and are syntactically correct. I've mostly wondered if it's the author or someone else (or many people) that proof the manuscript. Thanks for the insight!Scurvy Jakehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05484520661563050952noreply@blogger.com
