I was happy (though unsurprised) to hear that you admire Delaney — I’ve always thought of him as one of SF’s greatest prose stylists.

I’m also very much looking forward to your upcoming collection from Subterranean. The turnaround for that is normally on the order of 3 months. The book will then go through another edit pass, usually with a different pair of eyes, and another set of corrections - that's at least another month and usually more than that. If all is well at that point the book then goes for typesetting, which usually takes a few weeks, and then it comes back for proofreading and final changes. That whole process can take anywhere between 3 to 6 months and then you need a production slot, marketing build-up and so on, adding more time. 9 - 12 months is certainly not exceptional and some books take longer.Al Rhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01517967406876572177noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5143440998478479157.post-1632092043682699602021-08-08T08:03:40.038-07:002021-08-08T08:03:40.038-07:00Why does it take so long between you submitting a ...Why does it take so long between you submitting a book and it coming out for purchase? dripfeedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11973303718852295892noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5143440998478479157.post-73117740331803925242021-08-08T07:48:24.919-07:002021-08-08T07:48:24.919-07:00Can't wait! Can't wait!MGBusseyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11512959910320873355noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5143440998478479157.post-57180629932207289102021-08-06T11:26:29.688-07:002021-08-06T11:26:29.688-07:00This is great news!
